Michael founded Belltown Power in February 2013. Just prior to Belltown, Michael was a partner at Albion Ventures LLP. Albion (formerly Close Ventures) manages £230m of venture capital trust monies which it invests in growing companies in the UK. Between 2009 and 2013 Michael helped to establish Albion as one of the pioneering investors in the UK's community scale renewable energy sector. In that time, Michael led Albion’s wind, hydro and solar investments. Before Michael’s focus on the renewable sector, Michael led investments in the cleantech, media and travel sectors. Prior to Albion, Michael was a Project Leader at The Boston Consulting Group and before that, the Chief Financial Officer of Widevine Technologies, a security software company (sold to Google in 2010). Michael has a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from INSEAD.
Chief Financial Officer
Tom has been making private equity investments in renewable energy projects in the UK and in emerging markets since the end of 2006. Most recently he has raised and invested a series of renewable energy EIS funds in the UK for Guinness Asset Management and worked with the energy investment team at Actis on renewable energy investments in emerging markets. Before focusing on renewable energy, Tom spent four years in corporate finance (with JP Morgan, Flemings and Fredericks Michael in New York, London and Lima) and two years in strategy consultancy with the Boston Consulting Group in London. Tom has an MA (Hons) from The University of Edinburgh and an MBA from INSEAD.
Chief Operations Officer
Andy has over 12 years of experience in the renewable energy market working for GL Garrad Hassan, the world’s leading independent renewable energy consultancy. As a senior member of GL Garrad Hassan he provided a wide range of technical, project and management services leading to the successful development of over 5,000 MW of installed capacity in most major markets throughout the world. In 2009 he launched and led a new business area within GL GH focusing on the UK wind and solar market providing developers and investors with a comprehensive project management and technical service developing consented projects into optimised operating assets. Andy has a MEng in Mechanical Engineering and Management.
Head of Offshore Wind
Philip has been involved in the renewable energy sector for the past 14 years. Philip has investment experience across technologies from wind farms and solar parks at Consensus Business Group to fuel cells at Conduit Ventures. Philip has a track record both as a Principal Investor and as a Structured Finance Advisor, having most recently led Excalibur Group’s Offset Investment Business, which including aircraft, automotive and communications asset finance. Philip has a BSc from the London School of Economics.
Dan is an investment professional with over a decade of experience in direct investment and advisory roles. Dan is responsible for Belltown’s acquisition and project financing activity. Prior to Belltown, Dan was a senior member of John Laing’s project finance team, originating and executing equity investments and raising finance on energy and infrastructure transactions across Europe and North America. Before Laing, Dan managed advisory engagements as part of Scott Wilson’s infrastructure finance team, advising investors and lenders on economic and social infrastructure projects globally. Dan has a MEng in Aerospace Engineering from University of Liverpool.
Head of Asset Management
Jeremy has over 16 years professional engineering experience, working for the last 12 years in the renewable energy market. Prior to joining Belltown Power, Jeremy was part of the Renewables Division management team at DNV GL (previously GL Garrad Hassan) where he was Head of Asset Operation & Management, providing a range of services and software for more than 40 GW of operational renewable power plants around the world. Jeremy has a MEng in Aerospace Engineering from University of Bristol.
Paul comes from a background of management consultancy having worked for The Boston Consulting Group since 2009. During his time there he developed deal and due diligence expertise working on multiple large-scale private equity transactions, as well as an understanding of the energy industry in general through work with a number of major UK suppliers and generators. As Business Development Manager with Belltown he is focused on the origination and transaction of potential future investments and has experience across all of Belltown’s core technologies. He has an MA in Mathematics from The University of Edinburgh.

Peter is a Chartered Engineer with over 9 years of experience in the renewable energy market working for GL Garrad Hassan, the world’s leading independent renewable energy consultancy. As a senior member of GL Garrad Hassan he provided technical and project management services for wind and solar energy projects in the UK and other major markets throughout the world. Peter has a MEng in Aerospace Engineering from Liverpool University.
